THE PR DECODED MISSION

My mission is to share my brand building and PR expertise with start-ups and independent beauty brands who can't (yet!) afford to invest in a PR agency or brand consultant. For them Beauty Beat offers a new, flexible and affordable way to access world-class consultancy.

Through my mentoring, coaching and support I help brands to elevate their business to the next level. I empower them with the skills and confidence to lead their brand onwards and upwards. And to help them stand out and be seen in a noisy and highly competitive beauty world. I'm in it with them :)

I BELIEVE IN THE POWER OF BEAUTY

I believe that beauty has the power to change lives. It can transform, empower and build confidence. It has the power to boost self esteem, improve wellbeing and promote self-care and self-love.

Beauty is a powerful tool for self-expression that allows us to show the world who we are and what we believe in. It facilitates learning, play and exploration, has the power to enhance, conceal or arm. Beauty is inclusive - it’s for everyone, irrespective of dress-size, age, gender, race, background or income.

Beauty can be satisfyingly fast or indulgently slow. express or ritualistic. it can bring joy, experimentation, education, freedom and liberation.

BEAUTY IS MY BUSINESS.

CO-FOUNDER OF CHARITY BEAUTY BANKS

In February 2009 Jo set up a social enterprise called Beauty Banks with her great friend and beauty colleague Sali Hughes.

Both women were apalled to learn of the term 'hygiene poverty' where individuals and families can't afford to keep clean and many have to choose between eating or being clean. So - being them - they decided to do something about it. They set up Beauty Banks in February 2018. BB is like foodbanks but they supply personal care and hygiene items instead to charities who pass dontions received onto the people they serve.
